Company

The company was founded in 1950 as an Architectural and Planning practice with a transport planning component being added in 1975 initially as Gabites Beard, and later as Gabites Alington & Edmondson. In 1981 the firm merged with the planning practice of Porter and Martin giving the practice it's final name: Gabites Porter from the names of the founding member of each practice. Today Gabites Porter focuses on providing quality transport planning and engineering services throughout Australasia,South East Asia, and the South Pacific.

In April 2013, Gabites Porter joined forces with Traffic Design Group to become TDG. This cements TDG's place as New Zealand's largest specialist transportation engineering and transportation planning consultancy. Refer to www.tdg.co.nz
